The Darwin Seafarers Centre
We have relocated to a new position approx 150m from the ship berths at East Arm Wharf
The Darwin Port Welfare Committee (DPWC) is a voluntary body dedicated to the provision of Services in the Port of Darwin, Northern Territory Australia, at the East Arm Port precinct, to all Seafarers visiting the Port.

With the financial assistance from the International Transport Federation, the Darwin Port and the Australian Maritime Safety Authority, the DPWC has established and upgraded a Seafarers Centre within the Port precinct, providing recreational facilities, Payphones and free Computer access with 6 desktops and free wi-fi access for those with personal laptops & phones in a relaxing environment.
Four computers equipped with webcams are located in the Canteen module and Two are located in the adjoining room.

Both rooms have Television sets, one with a DVD player.

The Seafarers Centre has reopened following it's relocation due to Port expansion.

All Seafarers are welcome to use the centre during their visit to Darwin and we will do our utmost to assist you in any way we can.
An ITF Inspector associated with the Maritime Union of Australia can be contacted thro the centre, see the contact tab above. An ITF office is located in the new module.
The canteen is Temporarily Closed and International phone cards will be available from the canteen operator who is eager to provide stock of items not already available.

A Payphone is located in the Canteen module and a second one on the veranda/deck to provide privacy and permit phone use when the Canteen building is not open.

Port Safety Regulations prohibit the sale and consumption of Alcohol and the Seafarers Centre is a Smoke free zone in conformity with Health Regulations. We appreciate your understanding of these regulations by not smoking in the Centre.
